get out there and post.

I never thought I'd share bits of my life (and pictures of myself) on LinkedIn, or on Instagram. For years, my profiles were strictly dedicated to sharing cute landscapes and delicious pastries.

Engaging with a post and having my name pop up on someone else's feed felt like a bold enough step.

A few days into my first job as a recruiter, my manager suggested I start sharing on these platforms to connect with candidates. I spent the metro ride home wondering if I should quit on the spot.

I know I'm not alone in feeling this way. Clients and friends have excitedly shared their business-y ideas with me, only to follow up with a hesitant, "But I don’t want to put myself out there."

And I couldn’t understand that more—I still feel awkward about it, and my confidence is still a work in progress (and probably always will be). But, knowing what I'd miss out on without posting on here is a pretty strong motivation.

Creating a business that fully aligns with my values, working with talented people who will have a positive impact on this world, and eventually crafting the life I’m dreaming of is worth the discomfort before hitting that publish button.

If I can do it, you can too.

Focus on your “why,” just be yourself, build a caring support system, then stretch your comfort zone a little further and post. People are curious about what you have to say. Plus, everyone is too busy with their own worries to judge yours.

And if you need someone to cheer you on, I’m here. It’s worth it. It really is.
